Canon has announced its Pixma iP100 portable printer, offering a photo-capable resolution of 9,600 by 1,200 dpi in a unit measuring just 12 inches across and weighing a little over 4 pounds.
The iP100 is marketed toward for the travelling professional who needs to produce high quality color documents while on the road (such as a presentation) and to consumers who want to be able to print snapshots during a vacation.
The iP100 can handle 14 pages per minute in color and 20 pages per minute in black-and-white, and boasts USB 2.0 and a PictBridge port for printing images directly off a PictBridge-compatible camera.
The unit will print borderless prints ranging from 4 × 6 inches all the way up to letter size, and ab optional IrDA port allows for wireless printing. The iP100 will also be available with an optional Bluetooth adapter for wireless printing from Bluetooth devices (cell phones, cameras, etc.).
The iP100 will have a pricetag of $249.99, and the Bluetooth unit will be sold for an additional $49.99.
